IDENTITY-BEFORE-INTIMACY

Description
This guide is a hybrid parent-teen resource designed to be read together. It promotes shame-free, trust-building discussions on sexuality, emphasising that parents should be the primary (“law of first mention”)source of accurate, age-appropriate sex education for teens aged 12–19. Using relatable stories, personal anecdotes, biblical references, scientific insights, and practical tools, the book
teaches that sex is God’s valuable, purposeful gift – good within marriage for intimacy, bonding, procreation, and pleasure – but destructive when misused due to ignorance or premature exposure. It also teaches core foundations: understanding sex’s true definition (from God/Bible, not culture/media/peers), personal identity and worth (from God, not opinions/appearance), boundaries (physical, emotional, digital, etc.), consequences of choices, restoration after mistakes, resisting media/peer influences, managing emotions/crushes, and becoming sexually responsible.
In addition to the guided “Let’s Talk About This” questions, the book also has a journal consisting of private “Pause and Reflect” for the teens, “Try This Together” reinforcement activities, affirmations, and prayers to foster connection, reflection, and ongoing application.
With this book, parents can equip their teens with wisdom, self-respect, and boundaries to make healthy choices, and overcome discomfort to guide confidently as well as raise confident, value-driven young people grounded in faith, rather than cultural distortions or silence.
